As a former member of the Sharpe Appreciation Society it was great to listen to Jason and Sean on this podcast. The Baker rifle used a sword carried in a belt hanger attachment. It could be mounted on the rifle . The current rifle regiment still use the command fix Swords rather than bayonets. The brown bess musket bayonet was triangular and was fitted over the barrel with a locking ring. The musket bayonet and rifle sword were very different items.
